Philippe Xavier-Bender`s primary practice in Paris had concentrated on international joint ventures, contracts, mergers and acquisitions essentially between France, the United States and Germany, as well as international litigation and international estate matters.
Recent professional experience
In charge of the Firm`s New York office as a resident partner from 1992 to July 1998, his practice then focused on mergers and acquisitions, restructuring of European based subsidiaries and distribution agreements, all in close co-ordination with the Paris office of the Firm.Since his return from the United States, Philippe Xavier-Bender concentrates in representing US and international corporations in cross-border acquisitions in Europe and joint ventures overseas, as well as he develops a large practice in international estate and inheritance matters and international succession litigation.
Qualifications and professional experience
Philippe Xavier-Bender joined the Firm in 1978 and became a partner in 1985. He graduated from the University of Paris in 1972 (Master Degree), from the French Institute of Comparative Law in 1972 (Master Degree), and from the Paris Institute of Political Sciences in 1973. He also holds a Degree from the Institute for International and Foreign Trade Law, Georgetown University (1977). He was admitted to the Paris Bar in 1974 and licensed under New York Law as Legal Consultant in 1993.
